Inkeri Aula (PhD) is an anthropologist who specializes in multi-site and multi-sensorial ethnography. In recent years, she has researched the sensory transformations in transgenerational environmental relationships in European citiesin the Horizon2020 funded transdisciplinary project SENSOTRA (2017-2021). She defended her doctoral dissertation at the University of Eastern Finland on Afro-Brazilian wording in translocal fight-dance-art capoeira in 2020. Her versatile research topics include environmental relationships, relational ontologies, utopias, cultural imaginaries, forest myths, weedy landscapes, sensorial atmospheres, Afro-Brazilian culture, and multi-sensory methodologies. Aula is heavily involved in art and research cooperation, including sound installations based on ethnographic research results and materials that are presented on the site www.gardenofbecomings.com.
