Anna Leon studied Psychology and Philosophy in Bristol (UK) and Philosophy of Art in Paris (France), before completing a PhD in Dance Studies at the University of Salzburg (Austria). Her doctoral research, titled »Multiple Stories. Expanded Choreography and Choreographic History«, was supported by the NEON Foundation (Greece), the Leventis Foundation (Switzerland/Cyprus) and the Marie Andessner Stipendium of the University of Salzburg. She teaches practice-oriented dance history and theory in regular classes (at the University of Salzburg, SEAD - Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance and the Institut Français) as well as workshops. In parallel, she works as a dramaturge, notably as part of the Tanzbüro Berlin 2019-20 tandem programme.
